Care Guide
1. WHAT MATERIALS ARE YOUR JEWELRY MADE OF?
GOLD FILL
Our 14k and 18k Gold Fill jewelry are high quality and can last a number of years with proper care. Gold-filled, as opposed to gold-plated jewelry, is much more durable as it contains a thicker layer of gold and is the next best alternative to solid gold jewelry without the higher price point. Additionally, our gold filled jewellery is nickel free and hypoallergenic and is suitable for those with sensitive skin.
SOLID GOLD
Our Solid Gold 14k range are forever investment pieces and require little care other then a polish once in a while to retain its shine. Perfect for extra sensitive skin or those who like to leave their jewelry on permanently.
STERLING SILVER
Our Sterling Silver jewelry are high quality and can last a number of years with proper care.
2. CAN I SHOWER WITH MY JEWELRY?
GOLD FILL / STERLING SILVER
Gold filled and Sterling Silver jewelry can withstand normal wear and tear from showering and sleeping. However, we recommend you take off your jewellery before showering and sleeping to prolong the longevity of your pieces.
3. HOW DO I CARE FOR MY JEWELRY?
GOLD FILL / STERLING SILVER
- Wipe your jewelry after each wear with a soft, gentle cloth.
- Store your jewelry in your .ROMY.LI. bag provided.
- Avoid harsh chemicals, such as chlorine in pools and hot tubs, lotions, perfumes and hairspray. Put on your jewelry last.
- Avoid sleeping in jewelry to bring unnecessary wear and tear.
- To clean your .ROMY.LI jewelry, use a blue polishing cloth to remove dirt buildup and to restore shine.
Note: All jewellery with natural genuine pearls should be removed before showering and swimming to maintain luster. Constant exposure to chlorine in water will damage the pearl surface. Similarly chemical substances in perfumes, cosmetics and hairspray may react with and damage the pearls. Put on your pearl jewelry last after your normal skincare and makeup routine.
SOLID GOLD
-Solid Gold requires little care other then a polish/clean with a blue polishing cloth once in a while to remove dirt buildup and to restore shine.
4. WHY IS THERE A SLIGHT DIFFERENCE IN THE COLOUR OF THE GOLD ON SOME JEWELLERY?
Although the majority of our gold-filled jewellery is consistent in colour, slight variations in gold colour on a small number of our pieces may occur due to the production process.
